Every year, Energia per i Diritti Umani organises training courses for new volunteers and for those willing to get close to the international cooperation environment, or just to broaden their knowledge of the field.
The classes aim to introduce our association, our projects and our viewpoint on the cooperation in developing countries. At the same time, the trainings provide the technical basis to make the first moves planning bottom-up cooperation activities in countries such as Senegal, Gambia and India.
As Humanists, we believe that the social change we strive for is to be accompanied by the personal change of those who have the courage and the energy to help the others. In this respect, we also provide theoretical and practical workshops on the emotional and relational components of the job as volunteers will be working with people coming from different cultures, in situations of poverty and distress.
The weekly courses will also benefit from the participation of external experts capable to provide a comprehensive quality training to whoever is interested in volunteering and international cooperation.
At the end of each course, the attendees will have the opportunity to take part in the association, joining one of our working teams dealing with the projects and having the chance to travel to Senegal, Gambia or India to experience a real bottom-up cooperation initiative in developing countries.
To have a clearer idea of the topics dealt in our courses, you will find our programme and the list of the tutors of the 2015 XXXI training course accessing this link [INSERT LINK].
The next course will start in February/March/April 2016.

Collaborations with universities
LUISS BUSINESS SCHOOL
Since 2013, Energia per i Diritti Umani has collaborated with the LUISS Business School University to introduce the study of ethics, social responsibility and sustainability into some degree programmes. Specifically, Energia per i Diritti Umani develops learning modules in which the LUISS Business School students face the real issues that the association has to deal with when cooperating with the local African and Indian communities.
Energia per i Diritti Umani provides the context, the knowledge, the people and the connection to Senegal, India and Gambia; in other words the basis to start the modules. Thanks to these instruments, students have the opportunity to get involved in problem-solving activities, workshops and group works, with the aim to take part in a real social development activity.
The module develops dividing the classes into groups, providing them with the necessary contextual information and tools available and making them aware of the human dimension of their action. Successively, the students will be dealing with real problems, working on their solutions in groups, tutored by volunteers from Energia per i Diritti Umani.
By the end of the second day, the students will have exposed their ideas in front of a jury composed of the LUISS professors and the Energia volunteers, who will award the best solution. The association will later implement the winning solution in the most suitable way, sharing the final achievements with the LUISS students so as to establish a connection between them and the reality touched by their ideas.
