Between 2004 and 2016 we built and implemented several preschools in Senegalese villages, providing education for about 440 children ages 3 to 6.
For a few years now, we have also been supplying a school canteen service and a cart-bus picking up pupils from their villages, taking them to school and back home every day. As you can imagine, school meals not only ensure children the nourishment they need, but they are also instrumental in incentivizing families to send their kids to school, thus improving their chance of a better future. Therefore, the continuation of this service is of the utmost importance.
Offering a meal to the 440 children attending our 4 schools in Senegal amounts to a 800-euro expense. Moreover, our teachers receive a 680-euro income, for an approximate total of 1500 euros per month. In the past few years, we covered these costs by winning calls for tenders or implementing support projects. Unfortunately, this year we could not obtain the grant we hoped for. Therefore, we find ourselves facing an “emergency”, trying our best to continue a project that is fundamental to the life and development of these children.
Please, help us by making a donation. Every contribution matters, independently of the amount!
And if you could share this initiative with your friends, your relatives – whomever you like, it would be a great help, too! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support, which allows us to realise these wonderful and necessary projects!
